iRODS Archive

The iRODS Archive functionality allows datasets in iRODS to be moved to long-term archive storage. This is particularly useful for storing large datasets that are not frequently accessed but must be retained.

The archive overview shows you the status of archived datasets and their metadata.

To use the Archive feature:

• Click Search to list datasets eligible for archiving (the minimum file size threshold can be adjusted).

• Select the dataset you want to archive.

• Click Archive to start the archiving process.

• The system will tag the data files which in turn will trigger an iRODS rule that moves the selected dataset to the archive storage tier.
